About Us...
Dave grew up in the mountains of northern California.
He attended California State University Chico, Pacific Union College and Andrews University where he studied music, theology and pre-med sciences. In 1991 he received acceptance to Loma Linda School of Medicine, but decided to follow his love of teaching and ministry, while continuing to pursue further training in health, nutrition and natural therapies.
After devoting almost 10 years to pastoral ministry, Dave launched Back to Enoch - a teaching ministry, and then several years later, Country Living University - an online training program helping families achieve a country lifestyle.
He is the author of the book “Out of the Cities: The Time Has Come” and director of the documentary film “America’s Cities: The Coming Crisis”.
Dave is also a health coach with additional training in nutrigenomics and genetic testing with Kendal Stewart, MD and the ReCODE protocol for Alzheimer's Disease developed by Dale Bredesen, M.D..
Laura developed a love for the outdoors early on, spending part of her growing up years in an off-grid cabin in the mountains of northern California.
She attended Weimar College, Pacific Union College and Loma Linda University where she graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy.
After several years of practice as a PT, she started focusing more on lifestyle health with a special interest in nutrition and exercise.
She is a true outdoor enthusiast and has covered thousands of miles hiking, backpacking, biking, canoeing and swimming.
Laura has also become a passionate advocate working to stop unnecessary destruction of forests, where it negatively impacts wildlife, water quality, and plant life.
Dave, Laura and their daughter Allison enjoy spending time at their off-grid homestead in northern Idaho, and also their "home away from home", back in the mountains of northern California.
